Certification process

The certification process is extremely demanding and time-consuming task. Many of our clients at the very beginning do not realize how many documents have to be analyzed and prepared. Therefore, it is important to delegate this work to specialists with necessary know-how and experience. It is essential not only to receive the certificate efficiently, but also to maintain it later without any problems.

The certification process in JetSim Company can be divided into many different, more or less detailed points. To simplify and clarify the process, we have prepared for you the five most important points shown in the timeline below.

How does the certification process look like?

01. Preparation of a simulator that meets the certification requirements in terms of hardware, software and documentation aspects.

Certified simulators must adhere to strict regulations, ensuring high-quality training and operational reliability.

Key requirements include:

  • Signal transmission delays must meet precise tolerances.
  • Flight controls must provide appropriate force feedback.
  • Visualization systems must offer an adequate field of view.
  • Additional equipment, like oxygen masks and intercoms, is necessary for MCC certification.
  • The simulator’s enclosure must minimize distractions for users.

Equipping the simulator correctly from the start is critical to streamline certification.

In terms of software, all programs must be optimized for certification use and capable of generating objective test results. At JetSim, we utilize industry-leading software like Prepar3D and Prosim-AR, alongside our proprietary JetSim IOS—a versatile tool for running tests and managing the instructor station.

This comprehensive approach ensures our simulators meet every certification requirement with precision.

02. Preparation of documentation necessary during certification process (e.g. QTG, CMS, Operational Manual, Operator Documents etc.)

Proper documentation is the backbone of a successful certification process. At JetSim, we ensure that all required materials are meticulously prepared, accurate, and compliant with regulatory standards.

Key documents include:

  • QTG (Qualification Test Guide): A comprehensive set of objective and subjective tests proving the simulator’s compliance with certification standards.
  • CMS (Compliance Matrix Summary): A detailed matrix outlining how the simulator meets specific regulatory requirements.
  • Operational Manual: Instructions for the proper use, operation, and maintenance of the simulator.
  • Operator Documents: Guidelines tailored for end-users, ensuring effective training and safe simulator operation.

Every document is prepared with precision, reviewed by experts, and aligned with the requirements of certifying authorities. By entrusting JetSim with your documentation, you can focus on training excellence while we handle the complexity of certification compliance.

03. Preparing the application form for certification and submitting all required documents to the Authority

JetSim simplifies the certification process by handling all aspects of the application and submission. This critical step ensures that your simulator is officially recognized as compliant.

Our process includes:

  • Preparing the Application Form: Completing and reviewing the certification application to meet the specific requirements of the certifying authority (e.g., EASA, FAA).
  • Compiling Required Documentation: Gathering and organizing all necessary materials, including technical specifications, QTG, CMS, and operator manuals.
  • Submission to the Authority: Submitting the complete application package on your behalf, ensuring all forms and documents are accurate and delivered on time.

Our expertise in certification requirements guarantees a seamless and efficient process, saving you time and reducing the risk of delays or rejections.

Let JetSim manage the complexities so you can focus on achieving your training goals.

04. Analysis and audit of the simulator by local CAA

The final stage of the certification process involves a detailed analysis and audit conducted by the local Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). At JetSim, we support you throughout this critical phase by:

  • Pre-Audit Preparation: Ensuring the simulator, documentation, and testing tools are fully ready for inspection.
  • On-Site Support: Our team of experts assists during the CAA audit, addressing any technical or procedural questions in real-time.
  • Compliance Verification: Demonstrating that the simulator meets all regulatory requirements, including hardware functionality, software performance, and QTG test results.
  • Issue Resolution: Responding to any findings or recommendations from the CAA promptly to avoid certification delays.

JetSim’s proactive approach ensures a smooth audit process and a successful outcome, enabling your simulator to achieve certification without unnecessary complications.

05. Receiving and maintaining the certificate, i.e. carrying out regular tests and maintaining complete documentation

Obtaining the certification is a significant milestone, but maintaining it is equally critical to ensure long-term compliance. At JetSim, we assist you in both receiving and upholding the certificate by:

  • Certificate Issuance: Facilitating the final steps to receive the official certification from the relevant authority.
  • Regular Testing: Conducting periodic tests, including QTG checks, to verify the simulator’s ongoing compliance with standards.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Keeping all required documentation—such as updates to the QTG, maintenance logs, and operational records—accurate and up to date.
  • Support and Updates: Providing software updates, hardware inspections, and recalibrations as needed to meet evolving regulations.

With JetSim’s continued support, you can ensure your simulator remains certified and fully operational, delivering consistent, high-quality training experiences.
